Terms of Use
The terms for using Overbar, the first pull-up coach for iPhone and iPad. Updated October 27, 2026. Read it with the Privacy Policy.
The short version
Overbar is a training app for people working toward their first strict pull-up. It gives general fitness guidance, not medical advice: stop if something hurts, and talk to a doctor first if you have a condition or injury. Day 1 and Quick Hangs are free. Overbar Pro is a subscription that renews automatically until you cancel it in your Apple Account settings.
Who we are and what you agree to
These terms are between you and Aleksandr Chichkanov, who makes Overbar (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using Overbar you agree to them and to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA), which governs your licence to use the app. These terms add to the EULA; where they differ, the EULA applies to the licence and these terms apply to everything else.
Health and safety
- Not medical advice. Overbar, its plans, Obie’s answers and everything on this website are general fitness information. They don’t diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and they don’t replace a doctor or physiotherapist.
- Talk to a doctor first if you have heart disease or high blood pressure that isn’t controlled, are pregnant or recently gave birth, have a hernia, or have had a shoulder, elbow, neck or wrist injury, dislocation or surgery. The PAR-Q+ questionnaire is a good place to check.
- Stop if it hurts. Burning muscles and next-day soreness are normal. Sharp pain, joint pain or pain that gets worse is not: stop that exercise, and tell the app so it can make the next session gentler. If pain lasts more than a week, see a professional.
- Stop and get help straight away if you feel chest pain or pressure, unusual breathlessness, dizziness, or numbness or tingling down an arm.
- Check your equipment. Install a bar exactly as its maker says and stay under its weight limit. Never hang from door frames, door tops or shelves. Use a sturdy box to reach the bar, and step down rather than drop.
- Obie can be wrong. Obie’s chat runs on Apple’s on-device model and its answers can contain mistakes. Use your own judgement.
- The forecast is an estimate. Readiness and the first pull-up date are estimates from your answers, your check-ins and published training research. They update as you train and are never a promise.
You train at your own risk and are responsible for choosing exercises that are safe for you.
Who can use Overbar
You must be at least 13. If you are under 18, use Overbar with the permission of a parent or guardian.
Overbar Pro subscription
What’s free. Day 1, your first check-in, is free, and Quick Hangs stay free every day and keep your streak. Overbar Pro opens the sessions after Day 1 and the rest of the plan.
Plans and prices.
- Yearly: $49.99 a year, with a 1-week free trial for new subscribers.
- Weekly: $5.99 a week, with no trial.
Prices are in US dollars. In other countries the App Store shows the price in your currency, and it may include local taxes. From time to time the app may offer a lower price for your first year; the offer price and the price it renews at are shown before you buy.
Payment and renewal. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period at the current price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
Free trial. If you don’t cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the yearly subscription starts and you are charged $49.99. The app sends you a reminder about a day and a half (36 hours) before your trial ends. Introductory offers, including the trial, are available once per Apple Account.
Cancel or change your plan on your iPhone or iPad in Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Overbar, or in the App Store app under your account. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a subscription.
Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Restore purchases from the subscription screen in the app if you reinstall or change devices.
Using the app
We give you a personal, non-commercial licence to use Overbar on Apple devices you own or control, as the EULA describes. Please don’t copy, resell or reverse-engineer the app, or use it to break the law.
Our content and yours
Overbar, Obie, the app’s design, text, animations and training plans belong to us. Share cards you make are yours to share wherever you like. Your training data stays on your device; see the Privacy Policy.
Changes to the app and these terms
We may change, add or remove features, exercises and Obie’s outfits. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll update the date above and tell you in the app. If you keep using Overbar after that, the new terms apply.
No warranty and limits of liability
Overbar is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise that it will be error-free or that you’ll reach a particular result by a particular date, and we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for injuries from exercise you choose to do. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer where you live.
